it's a (im-) material world

In the photo lab, Susanne Pareike coats materials such as Styrodur, veneer, woven textile with light-sensitive emulsions and exposes them using negatives from analogue photography. Unique portraits, landscapes and still lifes are the result. An interaction arises between the “Nina in blue” motif and the material. Fragility, colour and microstructure of these photo objects are made visible in the large-format prints, which can be seen in the staircase of the Stollwerck community centre.
