On the occasion of the exhibition “Yokohama Souvenirs” by Japanese artist Naoya Hatakeyama, which was created and presented as part of the third edition of Artist Meets Archive and in collaboration with the Museum of East Asian Art Cologne, the International Photoscene is publishing the exhibition brochure “Naoya Hatakeyama - Yokohama Souvenirs”.
The richly illustrated publication recapitulates the photographic view of Japanese sights. Starting with touistic photographs, the Yokohama Shashin, shortly before 1900, through to Hatakeyama's photographs of the same places in 2023. The brochure is supplemented by a longer essay by the artist and commentary by Petra Rösch (Deputy Director, Museum of East Asian Art) and Helena Weber (Program Director AMA, Internationale Photoszene Köln).
