Leonie Pfennig, art historian and author, says:

THE END / NOT THE END?
Can art save the world? Certainly not, but it can create awareness for grievances, for example for the climate crisis. The artists involved in the exhibition at Kunsthafen do not want to stand idly by and document the destruction of our planet.

STRATEGIC FIT
I am curious about the joint exhibition of Alex Grein and Jan Hoeft. Both work with existing images - found or their own - which they remove from their original meaning through material combinations or collages.

Nelly Gawellek, art scholar, says:

THE LONELINESS ONE DARE NOT SOUND.
When a photo and installation artist curates a group exhibition, one can look forward to a special aesthetic experience. I am therefore looking forward to Donja Nasseri's multi-part exhibition, which will occupy all four art spaces at Ebertplatz. In four chapters and in different artistic constellations it is about the body as a mouthpiece of resistance.

VIBRANT WATERS
The Cologne curator Nada Rosa Schroer combines art with themes of sustainability and is currently dealing with the element of water. I am looking forward to exciting artistic works, new thought impulses and surprising insights into one of the most important resources.

Hannah Bingen, student and cultural worker, says:

NO ROOM TO MOVE
I am especially looking forward to the exhibition "NO ROOM TO MOVE" at the Laboratory for Art and Research at the University of Cologne. In the middle of the City Passage in Lindenthal, my fellow students deal with questions about urban space and its human and non-human actors from very different artistic perspectives. The supporting program is designed in a participatory way, for example on the topic of "making a move - exercises in urban (over)life".

Dilan A. Erkisi, architect in practice & urban researcher, says:

out west freedom must be boundless.
Outside in Petershof, with public transportation connections to downtown, Matz Reinhard's photographic work questions "open construction" in purely residential areas. As an architect in practice, a development plan without major hurdles sounds very tempting in terms of façade designs, but I am also quickly faced with the question of the extent to which public space determines the responsibility of collective needs. I am active in the project group that is developing Petershof into a place for the common good, and in addition to the exhibition, I recommend a look behind the walls of the square courtyard, which is protected as a historic monument.

And She Was Like: BÄM! is a queer-feminist initiative that operates in the field of art and design and advocates for self-determination, equality and solidarity through formats and events on (self-)education and exchange. We believe that together we can achieve more, be seen and heard. We want to strengthen the visibility of FLINTA in art and culture, raise awareness for queer-feminist issues and get into action together.
